I hope the beginning of the school year has been good for you and that you’re enjoying your new placements and children.
I just wanted to take a quick moment to let you know how well AJ is doing. He is getting an A in MATH (?!?!) and is doing great in all other subjects as well. He also chose an elective, “Peer Tutoring”, which is just what it sounds like. He helps out other kids in middle school who are having a tough time or have disabilities. I was surprised when he made this choice over all the other “fun” sounding electives, but am proud of him for doing so and he says he enjoys it.
The point I want to make is that I believe in my heart that it’s because of your patience and persistence for the success. Without your caring and gentle natures, I’m sure we wouldn’t be where we are today. He says he likes school, he never complains about it, he does nearly all his homework without our asking or overseeing and is a good student. He hasn’t hit puberty yet so that might change BUT we feel that he had such a great foundation built on your teaching that he will be fine.
I just wanted you to know that YOU have such an enormous impact on the kids, and you’re both doing a fantastic job. I think teaching is on of the least appreciated & thankless jobs. I want you to know that you are VERY appreciated. You reached a difficult to reach student in AJ and made a BIG difference.
I miss you all, the school and community.
Thanks for everything you did and continue to do for others.
